FINALLY HOME!

After a 2 day Safari (Where we saw giraffes, elephants, monkeys, 3 Leopards, a male lion, hippos, crocodiles, etc.) we traveled 3 days to get home (having an extra night in Uganda and a night in London).

We all made it home safe today at 5pm, relatively healthy, and very thankful for the USA. It is always fun to see God work on the other side of the world but man, I am glad to be back to watching Him work in the good ol' U.S. of A. :)

TGIF!

Today as we pulled out of the Guest House, we were greeted on our narrow street/hill with a truck in a ditch on one side of the road and a lone car unusually parked on the other side. Cars never just park on this street but today was the day. After about 15 minutes of trying to figure out a way through them, a few men picked up the car and simply moved it over-of course! It made me very thankful...that I'm not a man---Picking up cars has never been one of my talents.

We drove through pouring rain to Destiny Orphanage to see the desks YOU BOUGHT and uniforms and pairs of hair clippers. We also went from class to class handing out "sweeties" (dum-dum suckers). We always cause quite a bit of chaos when we go so our visits are not very long as to not disrupt the order of the 1500 children who call the place home/boarding school.

Next, we went to Kampirigisa Rehabilitation Center/Prison. The nurses gave medical aid and the rest of us did children's ministry in the cafeteria. The place has many cement buildings with broken windows and peeling paint. You could almost imagine it being a place that was nice at one time but with lack of care and maintenance, it is in very sad condition. I believe it is "home" to about 200 kids/teenagers currently and about 20 of them are young girls. Some are able to go to a church nearby and many raised their hand when asked if they are born again. Tony Faeth played his guitar and we sang many many songs about Jesus. Pam brought the Word and we loved on them as much as possible. I taught them Psalm 34:10 in song which was very fun (I saw that someone wrote on one of the table tops in chalk "Plsalm 34"-THEY HEARD!) We encouraged them as much as we could, let them know that Jesus does indeed know their names and has plans for their lives.

It was a very satisfying day. God truly went before us and gave us favor. We continue to be thankful for you and know that we will see you soon. Tomorrow at 5:30AM we leave for Northern Uganda for a Safari adventure...I'm praying to see Jaguar/Cheetah (and not just a tail!)

Today we shopped again in the morning and then made our way to the Saints Gate church for Day 2 of the women's conference. Hilary, Kelsey, and Rhonda all shared great testimonies and many were blessed by their words. Pastor Joanne brought an incredible word about the Holy Spirit and in accordance with John 2, "Water ain't gonna work for us!". Only new Wine from His presence will satisfy! Many many women gave their lives to Jesus, many were prayed for, many were filled with His Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. We built His Kingdom tonight and the people were blessed. Truly, it is an honor to serve Jesus in Uganda-hugging, supporting, encouraging, loving and praying for such beautiful women (And right now there are a few girls on our team singing around me, "I have decided to follow to Jesus"-I LOVE IT!)

A Thankful Thursday

What a wonderful day today! We went shopping for a few hours this morning and then went to the Saints Gate Church that we have been partnering with all week for the Women's Conference (and men's meetings happened at the same time in the basement/parking area of the church). Brianna and Pam (Or 'Precious' as she was mistakenly called ;) shared their testimonies and Pastor JoAnne brought the Word. It was so amazing and approximately 25 women gave their lives to Jesus. It's amazing to see the fruit from last year still being...well...FRUITFUL! God's word does not return void and wow, it just keeps producing results! The Church and the Kingdom of God grew tonight and it's because of your prayers! One will plant, one will water but it is God who gives the increase.

Success!

Our 3 days of Medical Clinic have now ended (about 2 hours ago). We did amazing ministry to the spirit, soul and body of multitudes of people. God definitely showed up and showed Himself faithful, gracious and giver of wisdom!

(THIS IS NOT FINISHED BUT IT'S TIME FOR DINNER!)

WE MADE IT!

(This was suppose to be posted the other day but we have had some technical difficulties :)

After travelling all night and day, we made it into Entebbe airport at 7:45AM Friday morning (Uganda time) which is 10 hours ahead in U.S. (so still Thursday night at home). We settled into the guest home of Ron and Shirley Devore, ate lunch, got a little organized and then got busy. Pastor JoAnne, Mary, and Jamie went to the pharmacy and the rest of us went to Katwe to hand out fliers about the coming medical clinic and women's/men's conference. We split into group of 2 with interpreters and fanned out across the area. Many people said they would come and we did pray for a few for healing/salvation.

We are doing well and are so happy to be here! Currently it is Saturday evening and the power just came back on after being off yesterday night and all day today. It came on with great rejoicing! Today, we visited Destiny Orphanage where we did some teaching and handed out gifts to children we had been monthly sponsoring as well as teachers/house moms. It was incredible! God is doing a great work there!

Tomorrow, we will preach at Saints Gate Church, as well as village churches. We are believing for signs and wonders to follow the preaching of the Word!

UGANDA HERE WE COME!

Today is the day! We are boarding the plane in Sea-Tac at 6:45pm and will travel to London with a brief layover and then...onto our destination of Entebbe Airport in Uganda.

Our packing day last Saturday went very well and compared to last year, seemed quite organized. That may be all due to the fact that Denise Doyle, the Ramos Ministries Administrative Assistant was there, telling us all what to do. She truly is a God-send and absolutely fabulous. It's amazing to meet the person who has been communicating with you over email for so long and to have an idea in your head of what the person looks like and sounds like in person. I don't know why I pictured an elderly woman of average height and looks. Denise, however, is beautiful, young and vibrant!

We will meet up with two team members in London, Pastor Tony Faeth as well as, Jamie Connor (mother to Mary Connor). We are so blessed to have both of them coming with us this year.

And so, the journey begins!
